About Us

Alva Wesleyan Church is an extension of a movement that started over 2000
years ago. We are a Christian fellowship based in Alva, Oklahoma, but we are
truly a church for the communities, reaching out to neighboring communities in
Northwest Oklahoma and Southern Kansas.

At the deepest level, this church loves people... all kinds of people from all kinds
of backgrounds, just like Jesus did.

Our goal is to glorify the Father by showing His love in three tangible ways.

Acceptance..Worth..Competence

We believe that all people have the right to experience a relationship with the
Father.

We believe that all people are valued in God's sight.

We believe that all people have a place of service in the Kingdom.

We proclaim...
The authority of the Bible as God's Word.

The Creator God as heavenly Father, perfect, holy, all powerful.

Jesus Christ as Savior, and Lord God who came to this world as a human,
the object of our worship, the focus of our praise.

The Holy Spirit as God, tirelessly at work, in human hearts, teaching,
revealing and comforting.

Salvation through faith in Jesus which creates in us newness of life and is
our guarantee of eternal life.

The experience of the Spirit-filled life which occurs when the believer
presents himself fully to God and is given in return the fullness of God's
Spirit.

The soon return of the Lord Jesus to claim Christians.

God's promise of eternal life with Him in Heaven, and by His mercy to
escape Hell.

The great commission to spread the Good News in our community and
around the world.

The Church as the Body of Christ, both local and universal, exists to
proclaim God's truth, to offer communion and baptism, and to bring glory
to Christ.
